New German Voices 2006
Staged Readings of New Plays

Remaining true to its tradition, GTA will once again introduce contemporary German playwrights to the New York theater scene this year. The latest installation of the series New German Voices, which advanced to cult status in New York with Five Days of Gemütlichkeit in 2004, will complete the repertory of STADTTHEATER NEW YORK.

Four new German plays in English translation will be presented to an American audience for the first time as staged readings.

Following each reading, the audience will be able to discuss the play in a relaxed atmosphere with the playwright, director and actors. What image of Germany do these plays communicate? What is strange? What is familiar?

Talk-Backs will be accompanied by beer and wine. Conversations that go deep
into the night are especially welcome!
