Malve Lippmann (Designer) was born in Stuttgart and studied Stage Design at the State Academy of Visual Art in Stuttgart under Professor Jürgen Rose from 1992 to 1997. Lippmann held assistantships at various theater and opera houses from 1997 to 1999. Lippmann has worked as a freelance set and costume designer since 1995 at theaters including the Deutsches Theater and Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, the Bühnen der Stadt in Cologne, the Schauspiel Haus Graz and the Staatstheater Mainz as well as at music theaters including the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, the Opera la Monnaie/de Munt in Brussels, the Staatsoper Darmstadt, the Opernhaus Graz, Oper Linz and the Schlossfestspiele Schwetzingen. Among others, Lippmann frequently collaborates with the playwright and director Jenny Erpenbeck. In addition, Lippmann creates installations, displays for exhibitions and is a production designer for films.
