Ronald Marx (Frank in The Woman before) was born in New York in 1964 to German-Jewish parents and was raised in Germany. After studying psychology and acting in Düsseldorf, he began his career as an actor in the German State Theaters; working with Hans Günther Heyme in Essen, and then in Salzburg and Giessen. Marx founded German Theater Abroad with Christian Kahrmann and Jarreth Merz in 1996 and has worked as Artistic Director since then. Marx is responsible for the conception and realization of all of GTA's productions. He has lived and worked as an actor and director in both New York and Berlin since 2000.
